We
were called to make disciples. Jesus could have told us to do anything He
wanted, and He called us to make disciples “As we are going...” If that
is our mandate, then we need to do it the way Jesus did it - in small groups.
When small
groups were rejuvenated a few decades ago, they were tagged “Cell Groups.” The
reason: cells multiply on a regular basis to keep the body healthy. Small
groups are fast becoming recognized as an activity that gives life and
connection to a church body. Certainly in times when life has so many
demands that rob us of God’s direction, small groups can bring us to a
reality of the need for a new spiritual commitment.
Real Life on the Palouse is a church of small groups. We believe that it is the
place where His Word is taught and practiced, and accountability takes place. It is
difficult for a church that has no small groups to stay relational and to truly
meet people’s needs where they are.
In a time
when we all crave to know more about the application of God’s Words for our lives
and we also long for real, trusting relationships, we are convinced that our CARE
Groups fill both of those needs in a way that nothing else can.
At Real
Life, our groups are organized with a coach, a group leader, a host home, and
an apprentice so that an organized ministry of shepherding can take place.
We design
our groups so that no one who attends will be overlooked in a time of
crisis. You will find a sign up sheet with a list of our groups, times,
and places located at the CARE Group table on Sunday. Some of our groups
are designed to handle children...Please ask.
